Steak and red wine party! Yeah, my friends and I had a steak and red wine party. I wanted to be the fanciest person there, so I bought a mask of the Queen’s face and wore it almost all night. Mission accomplished.
Halloween! I was a zombie Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany’s (also known as Holly Godarkly from Bloodbath at Tiffany’s). Although London doesn’t really care much about Halloween, I definitely did my best to get into the Halloween spirit here by going out in costume, going to a party my school threw and going on a Ghost Bus Tour of the city which was awesome. Also awesome was buying hot chocolate before the tour and having the guy behind the counter tell me I look like Katy Perry. I’ll take it.
Pumpkin pie! I was feeling a little homesick, so I decided to make a pumpkin pie for myself and some friends. England made it impossible for me to use my mom’s recipe (which is without question the best in the universe) because the fools who work in grocery stores here don’t understand what things like molasses are, but I still made a pretty great pie with the recipe on the back of the pumpkin can.
Bonfire/Guy Fawkes’ Night! It was kind of rainy and cold, so I was lazy and a friend and I watched a few fireworks go off, then retreated to my room to watch Big Fish.
Other than that, I’ve basically just been doing work. A lot of work. This past week was reading week, which means I technically have the week off, but I also have 3 grade-determining essays due in a month and then this time feels much less like time off and more like a time to lock myself in the library and read a lot.
But don’t cry for me Argentina, the truth is I leave for a long weekend trip to Morocco in a few hours, so life’s not so bad!
